What do you think? I wanted to accent the base, so chose to laminate hard maple between walnut for some contrast. I'm happy with the results of the base - even more happy with how flat the top is and the chamfer profile of the top edges! Hopefully this is constructed well enough for seasonal wood expansion, which is my biggest worry. I have the top attached to the base via centerline dowels and slotted carriage bolts. The top has C channels, which I hope I did correctly!
